If you have an interest in Kazakh culture, there is an exciting opportunity awaiting you. The QazEpos app offers a collection of rare audio recordings from the Soviet era, produced at Melodiya studio, the renowned state-owned record company of the USSR.
With the advancement of technology, the era of mass-produced compact discs led to the gradual discontinuation of record releases, rendering vinyl records obsolete and often forgotten. Many of these historical recordings were at risk of being lost forever.
The meticulous efforts behind the creation of 12 albums featuring Kazakh epics within the QazEpos app are commendable. The curator embarked on a quest, scouring flea markets for original vinyl copies and striking digitization agreements to preserve these cultural treasures.
